BELLAIRE, Texas--Surrounded by coaches, teammates, school officials and family, Bellaire Cardinals' catcher and third baseman, Brock Yates, signed a National Letter of Intent to attend CentenaryCollege and play baseball.
Yates was unanimously named 1st Team All-District his junior season, and is a three-year letterman for the Cardinals. This season he has helped lead the Cardinals to a 22-6 record and a birth into the Texas High School Baseball Playoffs, which begin May 4th. Bellaire has won seven State Baseball Championships, the most of any high school in Texas.
"Brock is a Captain this season and has been a leader throughout his time here at Bellaire. He continues the long tradition of very talented players this school has produced in its rich baseball history", stated Bellaire High School Head Baseball Coach Nick Ozuna.
CentenaryCollege is a Tier One Liberal Arts College located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Their baseball team recently clinched the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship and is nationally ranked.
