I hate to correct you Cuzz but am pretty sure Brazoswood is two words, Brazos Wood. I saw them boys play once up in my holler and they had a "BW" on the uni's. I'll have to check on Dick Inson and Pear Land but those sound like two worders too.

Probably a moot point because I don't think them district games been played since no one has posted on this district site for 2+ weeks

Trust me... The good times are really over for good in this district!!! I used to waste so much time at work, while on this page.... Even I was feeling guilty.

These guys around here are, I guess, scared to put it out there!!!

Trust me, Brazoswood is one word..... Now State Champs,,, that would be two words!!!! :-) I can't put them neat smiley faces on here with my fancy phone. Lucky to dial numbers with it.

Damn Jimmy. Be careful who you call out in this district because your likely to hear an ear full. I agree, everyday I check this site and no new posts, so I might as well get it started You yourself called out pearland as the division favorite. you i believe predicted clear springs to finish 3rd or fourth. Sighting that Clear Springs needed to find pitching in order to compete. Well we might not have anybody that can throw 90mph, but we do have is a deep rotation that throws strikes and mixes up their pitches. They do not seem to be afraid to throw a 3-2 curveball. As a result they are sitting on a 12-2-1 record. Including 2 wins against both pearland and Alvin. Yet pearland get ranked # 12 and clearsprings 21. Explain this to me. I think the pitching question has been answered. We will be fine. to go even further, Clear Springs might have the best defense in the district if not the area. As I respect your opinion, Is their another infield in the district that can match up with Clear Springs? Offense, Clear Springs is averaging7 plus runs per game and has hit 10 bombs from 4 different players. If you want to include scrimmages than lets call it 14 bombs. In an era of bbcore bats, i think we can say this is looking strong. I have not seen Brazoswood (1 word) yet, but i give them their respect as they are "last years" state champs, how do you think they will match up with our boys from league City? We play Clear Brook tomorrow. Any thoughts. You wanted some action, I am calling you out as well as everyone else. Conversation is what makes this fun and I look forward to hearing everyone elses opinion. Good luck to all the teams in 24-5a as I truly believe if you cancan compete here you can compete anywhere else in Texas. 24-5a will miss both Pearland and Alvin next year. The division will be weaker for sure.

I decided to make the trip from League City today to go watch the Bucs play the Cats. On my way down fm 2004, I was a little worried as all I saw were gun ranges, turkey shoot clubs and targets on both sides of the road, sprinkled amoungest a few trailers. I finally make it to the game, and the first thing I'm looking for is some possum on a stick and I find out that that fat boy, cuzzin Jimmy, ate'm all. So I have to settle for 2 cow patties and some cheese. Go find a seat to watch a ball game, sit down and can't decide if the cow patties or the game is more sloppier. And on top of that, after 7 innings the announcer still can't pronounce the Cats names correctly. In the end at least the Cats won and I got to see cuzzin Jimmy stammer off to the parking lot.....last seen talking to himself. Still luv ya baby.

Man, I see you were able to finally post!!! Amazing what can happen if you send in enough money.

I thought I had you blocked for good.

That was about the most sloppy game I have seen.... 8-3 at one point with only 1 base hit between the both of them.

How many times did you hear that announcer say "X" number of runs on no hits!!!

We are running short on the possum this season, I don't know why other than we have fewer hunters out finding them this year.

Wrong names after 7 innings??? I, I mean "he" didn't announce any names after 7 innings... the game was over.

Where have you seen me make this prediction? As for Springs needing to find pitching in order to compete???

I think Springs will beat Brazos Wood (just for WTP!!!) this year. We are down in all three categories of our program. We bring back 1 starter from last years team. The guys this year are still learning to play at the varsity level and some have adjusted, many have not. I did even state, we will be trying to stay out of the cellar this year!!! (I will probably get run outta town for that)

As for the comment about the "good times being over", I was not reffering to the talent level, read back in '08,'09... the message boards were a hoot!!! Lot's of action, as well as a bunch of information pertaining to how the teams were doing. Not any more.
So, without any fear.... They are scared to put it out there.

Except for Clear Springs.

As a Bwood fan, all I can say is Clear Brook deserved better than that tonight!!!!

Both Trabanino (Clear Brook) and AJ Angelone (Bucs) pitched their tails off!!!!

Jimmy those days are gone...with Jackdaball and Ezforme and many more of the ole posters that moved on. No more trophies or awards for views or record # of comments.
Looking forward to the cuzins to the south making there way to civilization tomorrow night. We will have the grill fired up for you. Sorry, no possom on stick served up. Brazoswood and Pearland always make it a good game. Have a safe trip.

Clear Springs wins the 1st half of district coming out with a 5-2 record. Then we get a log jam with 5 teams (Alvin, Brook, Creek, Lake, and Pearland) piled up for the 2-4 place seeds.

This should make for a good photo finish for all the playoff spots.

From my "perch", Alvin has gotten hot as of late and have won 4 in a row, with their last 2 being pretty decisive, high offense results.

Looks like it will come down to the last week, what a great race for the playoffs! Too bad this district gets broken up next year, there's some great baseball players here and every game is like a playoff game. And to answer the first poster, who obviously knows nothing about any of these teams, Brazoswood, Dickinson, and Pearland are all one word, not two.

Alright, here is the way I see it playing out on paper (rarely ever comes out right)!!!

Current Standings:
Pearland 9-3
Cl. Springs 8-4
Cl. Creek 7-5
Cl. Lake 7-5
Cl. Brook 6-6
Alvin 6-6
Bwood 5-7
Dickinson 0-12

Pearland: Still has Cl Brook up next, and finishes out with Alvin in the final game.
Prediction: Wins over Brook 5-3 and wins over Alvin 5-2. Finishes as District Champ with 11-3 record.

Clear Springs: Plays Creek next and finishes with Bwood.
Prediction: Wins over Creek 3-2 and wins over Bwood 7-3. Finishes at Runner up with 10-4 record.

Cl. Creek: Plays Cl. Springs next and finishes with Cl. Lake.
Prediction: Loses to Springs 3-2 and wins over Lake 5-4. Finishes at up at 8-6 (Seed Pending with either coin flip or playoff with Cl. Lake)

Cl. Lake: Plays Dickinson next and finishes with Creek.
Prediction: Wins over Dickinson 9-0 and loses to Creek 5-4. Finishes tied with Creek at 8-6. (Seed Pending with either coin flip or playoff with Cl. Creek)

Cl. Brook: Plays Pearland next and finishes with Dickinson.
Prediction: Loses to Pearland 5-3 and wins over Dickinson 9-1. Finishes with a 7-7 record.

Alvin: Plays Bwood next and finishes with Pearland.
Prediction: Wins over Bwood 8-1 and loses to Pearland 5-2. Finishes with a 7-7 record.

Bwood: Plays Alvin next and finishes off with Cl. Springs.
Prediction: Loses to Alvin 6-3 and Loses to Cl. Springs 7-2. Finishes with a 5-9 record.

So, with that.... I am positive there will be some suprises coming up in the last two games. Good luck to all the teams.
