Hats off to Tyler Keever as he keept battling behind all of the errors. None of the runs were earned! Jake Freudenburger had the hot bat for Westbury driving
in 2 runs. Great job boys, you will always be a MUSTANG!

bzzboys, I understand that Westbury is 2 - 1 in district play. Keever is 1 - 1 in district with only 1 earned run within district.

I just post the line scores, but if you want commentary, I can do that to. I guess I'm a little confused as to what Katy Mustang Baseball has to do with
District 21-4A, but I guess that's your thing.
As far as Westbury's record, players, stats or ERA's, I don't have the slightest idea because no one from Westbury has posted anything. Nothing, nada, zero about Westbury on this site this year. Well other than you, but I'm not realy sure where you're from. If they want people to know about them, they need to post it. As far as the game goes, Westbury did out hit Waltrip 4 to 5 with 2 of the 5 being infield hits by Davidoff. Davidoff is extremely fast and beat out 2 infield hits for the night and scored 2 of the 3 runs. 2 of the remaining 3 hits were an RBI single down the third base line in the first and an RBI double to the gap in the 7th by Freudenburger. Keever managed only 1 strikeout for the evening, but did dish out 3 walks along with the 4 hits. The ball was hit around the diamond a lot by the Waltrip batters throughout the game but most were right at fielders. Westbury by no means out pitched Waltrip. Moises Castillo went the distance with 10 k's and "0"walks. The last two runs Westbury scored came off an infield hit, a double, an E3, and sac fly. Solid defense finished it off with a great diving catch (sac fly) by the left fielder Carollo and then the game ended on a 6-4-3 (Cano, Lemond, Huble) double play. Last I checked, defense was part of the game as well and if you can't field, you usually won't win. |

BZZBOYZ, I LOVE your take! Yes, Castillo did do a really good job, no dis-respect to him. I will not put down any player or team so, I will do my best to stay
positive.
Katy Mustangs is/was the select team I coached for the past couple of years. Keever and Freudenburger both went to the Junior Olympics in Florida last summer with me so, anyways when I see or know that they do something well I post it on this board since they play @ Westbury. I always like to give my past player props when deserved. I agree with you that someone at Westbury needs to provide more stat info, I know they do have a team website which I assume has more info on it knowing the person running it. Keever is not a big strikeout guy he is one who needs a good defense behind him and it was there on some plays and not others overall I liked the composure on the mound. Castillo did have a solid D behind him. Defense or no defense my assistant and I have always believed that you had better score 5 to have a chance to win and last night yall did and Westbury did not. Congrats on the win and best of luck the rest of the season. Yes, the diving catch by Carollo was HUGE! It saved at least 1 run. GREAT PLAY! Thanks!

I figured out the Katy connection after my post while at the Waltrip/Davis game tonight. I know a few other kids that have played with you in the past. I wish
others from the district would post more, or heck, anything for that matter. If you know anyone, let them know. There are some really good ballplayers in 21-4A
that need, but don't get the run they deserve because of lack of paticipation by whomever. Good luck this summer. Maybe we'll cross paths at a
tournament.
